China's worst product-safety scandal in years has hit home for thousands of U.S. adoptive parents who are seeking answers about potential effects of melamine in tainted formula.
global economy - we get cheap and the jobs all go overseas so we can get cheap. Hey and they say manufacturing is down = do ya think??? But boy we got cheap.
everything coming from china seems to have something. Put quite simply, NO IMPORTS FROM CHINA should be allowed. Solve lots of problems, including the employment rate in this country.
U.S. companies are far from blameless. I can remember when the producer of a prominent baby food line was discovered marketing flavored sugar water as apple juice. There's probably so much of this going on everywhere; no wonder we're so unhealthy. High sugar, high fat, empty calories . . . . .
I agree, ya get what ya pay for. Stop buying Chinese crap from kids, tires, baby formula, baby toys, clothing, food, etc., etc., etc. Everything they export is tainted, inferior, and just plain cheap junk. I believe there are enough orphaned children in this country that could be adopted. Now we probably get to pay for a bunch of expensive testing on the Chinese orphans.
This is the kind of thing that happens when you want to cut costs and go cheap.
Buy American.
why do we buy all this junk from china ? they sale poison to us are kids are pets ,and we keep buying it even though it has destroyed are economy in the manufacturing sector ,they own us .Buy American ,there still are American products if you care to look for them, and the more we buy American products the more there will be and the more jobs we will have.
American business people buy this crap so they can make more profits. Jobs for Americans means nothing when you can make more money by buying and selling poison to the public.
Yes the Chinese business peole are to blame but also the American business people who will buy anything at a cheap cost to increase their profit while ignoring the social cost of what they are doing.
PLEASE, I beg of anyone who has read this article, or has any sence of responsibility/accountability, do just 1 hr of research into this subject. Melamine no matter how small an amount is toxic to the body, the body can not digest powered plastic (can you eat your counter tops, and cabinets? (NO)). I emplore you to check out all the products using this toxic/poison additive, It will I am sure frighten you (once you have knowledge there is less fear). Remember, some elements are accumalitive in the body. This poisoning of the food is nothing new, and definitely not refined to one country. Soy, caffine, sugar(including artificial sweetners) and numerious others are in constant circulation in our poor/ignorant diets. Every 5 to 7 years EVERY cell in nthe Human body is replaced with a new cell; Now tell me how much genes have to do with heredity disease? Educate yourselves, stop watching your reality T.V. and barbarian sports, read and research; your lives and the lives of your children depend upon your responsability/accountability. Take responsibility for your own lives and quit laying responsibility upon your Gov. it only gives you someone to blame when you have not taken the accountability upon yourselves(you have no one to blame but yourselves, are you not he free people you are illusioned to be?) Live life , be not mearely a survivor. And one more thought, the words and language used in the article are missleading as well as very open ended, learn how you have been maipulated by language itself!
Now, as I have wondered a few other info sites, I am finding conflicting reports about the product Melamine. It has been stated there is no threat in the U.S. , then why does it state a world wide distribution in products(choose more then one source for your research). Oh, remember there are no laws governing the validity or truthfulness to news and media stories, yes you read that right "THE MEDIA IS ALLOWED TO LIE" and the courts support them. Buyer beware. A posion is a poison is a poison, no matter how little, it is still Toxic. Buy the way, this is the same way Floride(a poison(rocket fuel biproduct) used during the war to influence the reproductive as well as the mind of the people in the camps) was introduce into the American diet. Floride has no benifit to the human body, as a matter of fact: the earth can not absorb certain amounts, so it was added to our consumption of products in order to dilute it before it is placed into the Earth. Do not shoot the messanger untill you have researched the message, just because something is unbelievable does not negate its possibility. Take the time to research all chanels before you just doubt, just because you find it to difficult to understand. live life
The reason I chose to adopt a girl from China is none of your f'ing business and none of you have any right whatsoever to judge me for it. And don't worry about paying for any effects from melamine - I have private insurance I pay for and have high copayments. It will come out of my pocket, not yours. Very few of these children end up in a government health plan. Both the adoption agencies and the Chinese government take great pains to make sure these children go to financially secure homes.
That said, the issue of companies in China deliberately contaminating food with melamine and "cheap" products are two completely different issues. Also, be aware that the Chinese government sent more than 340,000 inspectors out, shut down hundreds of operations amounting to 20% of their dairy production, and arrested dozens of people, most of whom you will probably never hear from again. That's probably not enough, but if this would have happened in the US, we'd have a lot of PR and nothing else.
On a side note, why is it that so many Americans adopt kids from China? And no, I am not being sarcastic or cynical, it is an actual question. I know for a fact that there are a lot of needy children here in America, so it doesn't make sense. Is it too difficult to adopt an American child? Is the process too lengthy? Just wondering
